In this musical, Samantha who is turning 40, wants to quit her Wall Street job and go for a soul-searching adventure in Machu Picchu. Her insecurities descend on her like a pack of demons, who want to derail her new ambitions and to protect their own demon status. Samantha is dragged into a hilarious showdown of wills and determination, but in the end, she wins, with a revelation that shocks and delights her (and the audience). Charged with energetic music and side-splitting lyrics, Monsters! asks: Have you faced your demons? We can’t necessarily destroy them, but we can laugh at them and put them in their place.
The cast of characters (monstrous and not) are Lindy Keefe as Sam; Jess Haag as Apathy; Jaime Elizabeth as Fear; Matthew Oyler as Body; Mandy Murren as Birthday Girl; and Heather Stoll as Mother.
Behind the scenes are Director Andrea Stephenson, Stage Manager Alyssa Byers, Prop Master and Stage Crew Stevie Francis, Lighting Designer Bob McCleary, and Producers Dave Miller and Courtney McDougall.
Remember that HLT will donate $2 for each ticket sold to the Saturday, June 8 performance to the Hanover YWCA. Matching donations from an anonymous patron and Sommer and O’Donnell – Attorneys at Law will boost the total donation to $6 per seat sold. We will also accept donations from patrons at each performance.
This season is proudly sponsored by The Eichelberger Performing Arts Center.
