Auditions for Hanover Little Theatre’s production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 and Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the theatre’s playhouse (360 Blooming Grove Road, Hanover).
Written by Emmy & Oscar-winning writer Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under, True Blood), the play takes place during an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tenn., estate. Five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of the women’s spirit.
Jeremy Slagle will direct the show, which runs April 10-12 and 16-19. The cast calls for five women and one man appearing 20s-30s in age. All experience levels are encouraged to audition. Those interested only need to attend one night of auditions. Crew members are also needed for the production. For more information, call 717-637-5297 or e-mail info@hanoverlittletheatre.com.
