Director Jim Watson will hold auditions for “Over the River and Through the Woods” on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. at Hanover Little Theatre, 360 Blooming Grove Road. The cast includes 2 males and 2 females who could be grandparents to a 30-year old grandson, 1 male looking to be in his late 20s to early 30s and 1 female as a blind date to the young man.
THE STORY: Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida, but he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he’s been offered a dream job.
The marketing executive position threatens to take him to Seattle, away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. Frank, Aida, Nunzio and Emma do their level best, and that includes bringing to dinner the lovely—and single—Caitlin O’Hare as bait.
Readings from the script will be done at the audition. Performance dates are 8 p.m. Nov. 14-16 and Nov 21-13 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 17. The entire show is posted in small sections on You Tube under “Over the River and Through the Woods play.” E-mail us for more information.
